We talked about Conservation photography in class today, and touched on the subject of wildlife living in captivity. I was stuck by the idea of captivity being the new natural habitat for some species, and the some of the captive-animal photography we looked at. It reminded me of an old image I took at the St. Louis zoo, of a Giraffe in it’s holding pen. The giraffe wasn’t living in bad conditions, but I was reminded of how it seemed to really be on display in this frame.
